Aunty Margaret Machado, the teacher of teachers of lomilomi massage, and a living legend, passed away on December 28th, 2009.She broke from Hawaiian tradition of secrecy, in sharing her knowledge of this ancient Hawaiian massage practice, becoming licensed by the state in 1965 and has taught hundreds of students. Aunty Margaret was the only authentic, Hawaiian kupuna licensed by the state of Hawaii to train therapists under state requirements.
